Walter De Maria poster: Daniel Eatock workshop
Materialization of the Dematerialized was based on the book, Six Years: the Dematerialization of the Art Object from 1966-1972, by Lucy R. Lippard. She argued that in that era the emphasis was on the thinking process almost exclusively, rather then the art object itself. Because the idea, the concept, behind the art had become so significant, the art-making was actually almost inseparable from its nonart surroundings. In this workshop chose an artist from this era and re-materialized a work from that artist in the form of a poster. With the Walter De Maria work, Mile Long Drawing, I figured its ideal translation to be a mile long poster.
